Scalp and hair
The scalp is often extremely sensitive during chemotherapy – whether or not hair loss occurs. Irritation, itching, and heightened sensitivity of the scalp are common but rarely discussed. Below you'll find Oncos products designed for gentle care of a sensitive scalp.
Why the scalp becomes more sensitive during treatment — Chemotherapy affects hair follicles and can lead to temporary hair loss (alopecia). Without the protective layer of hair, the scalp itself loses its natural barrier, becoming more sensitive to sun exposure, cold, and mechanical irritation (hats, wigs, pillows), and may itch or burn.
What helps — Gentle cleansing without harsh surfactants, regularly moisturizing the scalp with a soothing product, protecting the head from the sun (a head covering with UV protection), and choosing soft, non-irritating materials for hats, scarves, or wigs.
Oncos products for the scalp — Oncos offers gentle products suitable even for a very sensitive, irritated scalp without hair – dermatologically tested, fragrance-free, with clinically proven soothing effects.
If irritation persists or a rash appears, please consult your treating physician or dermatologist.
