Veronica's story: How the LIV'beauty project came about and why it brings Oncos to the Czech Republic

When our friend Veronika – a mother of a ten-year-old son – was diagnosed with jaw cancer at the age of 43, her life changed in an instant. Until then, she had been full of life, optimism and joy from every day. Oncology treatment, especially radiotherapy, presented her with many challenges – one of which was extremely sensitive and irritated skin.

Veronika soon discovered that ordinary cosmetics were not suitable for her condition. And what’s worse – there were no specialized dermocosmetics available on the market designed for the needs of oncology patients. This fact deeply affected her. But instead of resignation, strength was born – and an idea. Thus the LIV’beauty project was born.

LIV’beauty: more than just cosmetics. It’s a journey back to yourself

The name of the LIV’on project symbolizes the courage to live on and not lose dignity even during treatment. It wasn’t just about skin care – but about restoring self-confidence, well-being and connection with your own body. Veronika said: “Every woman has the right to feel good, even when her body is changing. Beauty and comfort should not be a luxury.”

Her dream was to create cosmetic care that would not only be effective, but would also be a psychological support. Cosmetics that would help patients feel comfortable in their own skin – literally and figuratively. Unfortunately, Veronika lost her battle with the disease. But before that, she gave us her blessing to turn her dream into a reality.
